Wild Arms 3 - Decaying Labyrinth Speedrun
In my recent Wild Arms 3 playthrough, I had an idea for a speedrun, or just a challenge in general, where the goal is to get to the Decaying Labyrinth, defeat the Ring Keeper and unlock gardening as soon as possible.
It's physically possible as soon as Claiborne becomes available. You can purchase the horses from Dessinsey and that's the moment you can jump the gap, find The Secret Garden.
At this point you'll be horribly underlevelled (My characters were around level 8 at this point), and you will die to the overworld encounters on the way.
The encounters in the Decaying Labyrinth themselves are manageable, however the boss fight against the Ring Keeper is almost impossible, especially without any dark resist.
This begs the question: How far do you have to progress in the game to be able to get through this sidequest? How much do you have to grind, and where are the best spots for this?
This is what I want to find out! :D I'll update this page more with my findings.
Available areas
There are a lot of areas available around Claiborne and surrounding that are potential spots you have to play to to either obtain something that helps with beating the boss, or is good for grinding
- Area around Baskar: too low level
- Serpent's Coils: Has Jelly Blobs that can be farmed with summons or elemental gems for 8 xp each
- Various dungeons across the gap where Little Twister is. All up until Sand Canal, because I think crossing the Sand Canal/progressing far enough to be able to take a train back to Midland Station to get back would take too much time.
